Jennifer Dawn Nyakundi, Director, MSEd, LADC, ICADC, ICCS, LPC
Jennifer recieved a Master's degree in Science & Education in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Superior in December 2010. Jennifer is licensed through the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.  She is an Internationally Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor and an Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor. She is also certified by the Upper Midwest Indian Council on Addictive Disorders. Jennifer has an extensive background in the treatment of co-occurring disorders, multi-cultural issues and female specific treatment.  Before working in the addictions field, Jennifer worked as a wilderness instructor helping teens with behavioral issues.  She is knowledgeable in all regulatory and ethical guidelines of Chemical Dependency Treatment in Minnesota. Jennifer is the Clinical Supervisor of all clinical aspects of the Pioneer Treatment Center. Jennifer has over 7 years of experience in the addictions field.  

Sheila Johnson, Counselor, LADC
Shelia is licensed through the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.  Sheila has over 7 years of experience as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has exemplary knowledge and empathy with clients and really understands multicultural issues. Sheila previously worked in the Twin Cities before Pioneer Recovery Center was able to recruit her up to the Iron Range.  Sheila has received training in and helps others understand gender responsive and trauma informed services for women.

Angela Jarvis, Human Service Technician, LPN
Angela is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Angela runs the Living in Balance curriculum as well as the Twelve Step group at PRC.
Debra Silverness, Human Resources Assistant
Deb is our employee law "go to" person.  She is in charge of all hiring and recognition.  Deb ensures that the staff are taken care of and makes sure that everyone has received the proper training and that employee files are all in their place. 

Jennifer N. White, MA, LP, LADC
Jennifer graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Social Welfare (1978), a Certificate as a Chemical Dependency Specialist (1983), and an MA in Counseling Psychology from the Alfred Adler Institute. Jennifer maintains an active dual licensure as a Psychologist and an Alohol and Drug Counselor in the state of MN. Jennifer comes to the Pioneer Recover Center with 8 years experience in primary CD treatment and 20+ years experience in MH diagnosis. Jennifer has specializations in anger management, domestic violence, victims and offenders of sexual violence, crisis service, and the SPMI population. Jennifer has been supervising MHP and interns for over 10 years.
